Rocky Dead at 26

Well, the hits just keep on coming, don't they?
One of the brighter shining stars of the gay porn world, Rocky, died at 26 at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday. His long-time friend and manager, David Forest, was just informed this morning. "He was admitted to Cedars in mid-May and was diagnosed with a cancer called lymphoma," says Forest. "He had been HIV+ for three years and unfortunately had a widely known crystal meth habit. HIV and cystal abuse when combined, do not seem to lead to good endings. Rocky never left Cedars all these months. Chemo therapy and radiation treatment made him even sicker so they stopped and just tried to keep him comfortable until they could resume. They did resume the past few months."
This news follows the deaths of Matt Sterling, Andy Dill and Kirby Scott also this week, an unprecedented and downright spooky thing really.
I write all of this with a heavy heart because although I've reported on many deaths in the adult industry, Rocky is the first I've personally known to go. He might also be the youngest friend I've ever had who has died. We even dated very briefly in 2002 and our first date was captured on camera for the JasonCurious.com show, Celebrity Uncensored.
Rocky was just a total joy to be around all of the time. I never knew him unhappy. I never knew him angry. In the midst of chaos, he could remain calm and smiling, taking the confusion in stride and just taking the adventures that life brings.
He was one of the hardest working performers I've ever known too. Never a diva and always willing to be the one in the "difficult" position, Rocky never complained and always did anything that was asked of him. That's why he was often paired with performers who are nortoriously difficult to work with.
He was also a good friend. When I was starting this site in 2001, Rocky was a huge supporter of mine and thought what I was doing was "really cool, different." He let us shoot a lot of behind the scenes footage on him both on sets and in his personal life. He was also our very first ever live sex show broadcast for "JC TV Live." Looking over his work in our archives this morning, I realized I might have single-handedly captured not only the performer, but the person more than anyone else. I'm proud of that; grateful to him for allowing me, grateful for the time we spent together.
Here's a collection of Rocky moments from our archives, like a little JasonCurious shrine to him I guess.
Gosh, you'll be missed, studly.

I never knew Rocky but he was one of my favorites. I am quite saddened over this. I hope he is resting now in peace.
RIP Rocky. Love you and miss you.
Very sad. Rocky - you will be missed.
Just heard this awful news. I met and was so lucky to photograph Rocky via my work with Odyssey magazine. This boy was gem--flawed, but always fabulous. Never shady, always shining. My heart breaks for his family and friends all over Los Angeles. What fun I had seeing him at MICKYS, around Weho, at so many dull events that he made memorable and exciting for me. One in a milion easily. I hope tonight he's watching over all of us and far away from his pain and suffering.
I am deeply saddened. I will remember him fondly.
Tragic & one of the younger guy's. Crystal Meth is THE Biggest killer among Gay men today, not HIV the drugs could have saved Rocky but not while he was in Tina's steely grasp. I have wrestled with this all my adult life,I have lost friends, nearly killed myself all for what the ultimate sex drug!LOL!. Look at all the guys in this biz who really have fallen hard to CM. But some have battled back look at Nick Capra! Live your Life don't be just another statistic!
Il tuo corpo mi faceva impazzire, eri bellissimo e mi dispiace che tu ci sia mancato! Un bacio dall'Italia, ovunque tu sia!
