Grabby Awards Weekend Timeline: Day Three
I spent most of the afternoon blogging my Day Two entry of the Grabby Awards weekend timeline, up until it was time to grab some room service and get ready for the main event, The 2009 Grabby Awards ceremony hosted by Chi Chi LaRue, Honey West, Brent Corrigan, Wolf Hudson and Blake Riley!
5:30 pm: I headed up to host Chi Chi LaRue's suite for her to check my outfit. She put it together herself (girl knows what the boys look best in!) so for all of your complimenting me on it at the show, I have her to thank!
6:00 pm: Limo picked up C1R crew Chi Chi, Doug Jeffries, Blake Riley, Jeremy Bilding, Cameron Marshall and myself to head to The Grabby Awards. We grabbed Brandon Baker as we were heading out and threw him in the car with us! Fun to arrive with him too, another one of my best pals! I felt like I was truly with my peeps! ;-)
6:30 pm: As soon as we arrived on the scene, I began Twittering what I felt were the highlights and lowlights of the evening for the over 1,400 peeps now following the Jason Sechrest account at http://twitter.com/jasonsechrest. They were as follows:
- 6:40 pm: Just did red carpet and three interviews. Sitting at C1R's table. Great seats! Come say hi!
- 7:03 pm: Diesel Washington brought his mom!!!!! SO CUTE!
- 7:39 pm: I've touched more hole tonight than in the last 3 months ...and the show hasn't even started!
- 7:47 pm: The Fosse burlesque opening act is sooooo my kind of shit! Loving it!
- 7:53 pm: Don't be jealous of my boogie! @perezhilton: I'm so jealous!
- 7:56 pm: Okay, the need music between these presenters and winners or the lack of applause will be deafening and it will bring it dooooown! This crowd is quiet!
- 8:06 pm: I made a joke earlier in the week on Twitter thanking the Grabby's for my suite, the fruit basket and Red Lobster gift certif! (They had given me none of the above.) So I was just presented with my award, KFC coupons. Thanks @grabbys!
- 8:07 pm: See you in stall #2! @theswordcom
- 8:30 pm: Chi Chi just asked Brent Corrigan if there's anyone here he's so annoyed with he could just KILL! LOL
- 9:04 pm: I am sure he said the same thing about me when I went on stage. Didn't he win the award for Biggest Dick last year? ...in more ways than one? @brentcorrigan00: I just got my first insult of the night from Trevor Knight. Why is he relevant again?
- 9:12 pm: I was asked to accept Best Cum Scene Award for Channel 1 Releasing's "Blackballed 6." Chi Chi was busy back stage and Doug Jeffries asked me to! So fun!!
- 9:22 pm: YAWN! ... More @djchichilarue please!
- 9:38 pm: Falcon exclusive TJ Hawke is so stunningly beautiful, even moreso in person. Stands out from the rest somehow, don't know why. Someone up there tell him I said so.
- 9:45 pm: Gotta say... this show is usually a lot more fun with more energy from the audience.
- 9:54 pm: Chi Chi just introduced @brandonbaker to the stage as my boyfriend! ...I should be so lucky!
- 9:57 pm: Hot House director Steven Scarborough's speech acceping Lifetime Achievement was really moving. He seems like a really incredible soul. You feel it everytime you're around him.
- 10:01 pm: Wrapping up! ...See you at Charlie's for the after party!
10:30 pm: I spent most of the after party hanging with Chi Chi LaRue in the DJ booth or Howard Andrew and his boys with Sister Roma and Amanda Brandt in the dressing room backstage. Nice to not be the host so I didn't have to walk around the actual club too much, as it was so damned crowded! Packed with people!! Incredible!
2:00 am: I did the after party, but not the AFTER after party. ...And that proved to be a smart idea. I got 7 hours of sleep and felt so great in the morning heading to the airport instead of like death.
Raging Stallion took home more awards than any other studio, two of their movies tying at four trophies each, "To The Last Man" and "The Drifter," the latter of which actually took home a surprising win for Best Picture! The studio's exclusive Logan McCree also took home more awards than any other performer, including the coveted Best Actor. Steve Cruz an Diesel Washington shared Performer of the Year honors and Kyle King and Channel 1 Releasing exclusive Cameron Marshall were crowned Best Newcomers, marking the second year in a row that a C1R exclusive has taken home the award. Wall of Fame inductees this year included my pal Troy Prickett the PR and marketing director from Falcon Studios, Steve Jerome who has enjoyed an illustrious career most recently at Dirty Bird Pictures, and performers Spike and Robert Van Damme.

As for me, FIVE mentions on stage, only rivaled by Diesel Washington's mom! LOL... I call that a successful weekend. Thanks Grabbys and Chi Chi LaRue! Goodnight, Chicago!
