L.A. County Declines To Force Condom Use In Adult Entertainment

First a superior court judge ruled the AIDS HealthCare Foundation could not force condom use on sets in December and ordered that they "stop harassing" the adult entertainment industry. Now L.A. County officials have ruled the same according to The Los Angeles Times.

County officials said it would be too difficult to regulate the porn industry through the county's Public Health Department and that it would require a state legislature, adding that no California lawmaker has been willing to sponsor such legislature since the idea was first approached in 2004.

"It is very, very difficult to implement. There are roughly 200 production companies with about 1,200 actors," said Dr. Jonathan Fielding, the county's public health chief. "All you need is a room and a camera and a bed, basically, to do this kind of shoot, and we have no ability to police this."

I've talked to many VPs from the straight porn companies especially who tell me they have all but been raided by the company and health boards throughout the past year. They show up on sets unannounced to monitor along with a list of recommendations that they would like to someday make requirements: Everything from camera operators and directors wearing gloves and surgical masks to companies owning all wardrobe used on sets and having it properly sterilized after every shoot, and of course forcing condom use and the studio paying to test every performer for all STDs with zero opportunity window before every time they shoot.

Seems more like a fight to take away our right to party than anything else. And so far, thankfully, they are losing.

Both hosts are up against each other in the Best Personality category, which neither have a snowball's chance in hell of winning as two of the industry's most notoriously Worst Personalities. The ceremony will start at 10:15 pm (sharp!) with an after party to follow DJ'd by Chi Chi herself before she uses herself as a mop to clean up the club at 3:00 in the morning.

Chi Chi will also DJ the official pre-party for The Cybersocket Awards at Here Lounge (696 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood) on Saturday, February 6th from 9:00 pm - 2:00 am where a series of Cybersocket nominees will be in attendance and a few surprise porn stars will perform live on stage. (Which means we have no idea who will be there, but we know pretty much everyone will be and really hope you come.)
