A Life More Rounded
After a couple of weeks that were abysmally slow at The Other Side, things really picked up this week. Both Tuesday and Friday night were surprisingly packed and we even had a few celebrities in our midst! Rose McGowen was there on Tuesday night and sang "Fever" which she actually sang on an episode of her TV show, Charmed. And on Friday night, former presidential candidate John Kerry stumbled upon us and decided to stay all night. He made a point to stop me on my way to the bar after "Come In From the Rain" and told me how much he enjoyed my performances and I thought coming from someone who has no doubt seen so many talented people perform live that is quite a compliment!
After The Other Side on Friday night, I went out with a couple of friends who are singers there too, Joe and Peter and Peter's friend Lauren. We went to Akbar for last call and then to Astro to eat. I'd never been to Akbar. Much different than a West Hollywood spot. Much more "east side" Joe kept saying. Joe's life is so opposite from mine that he always introduces me to new things and I need friends like that.
Hung out with Crystal, another friend from The Other Side, at The Grove all day on Saturday. Shopping, eating at The Cheesecake Factory and seeing Prom Night in a theater filled with a bunch of teenagers that were screaming at the screen. Such a bad movie, but so funny to watch the audience! So glad I saw it in the theater.
Tonight I'm catching up on work for the web site. Just wanted to check in. I don't ususally write entries like this anymore because I fear you'll find them boring. I remember back in 2001 and 2002 when the site and this "Diary" launched, it was interesting for you because all my friends were porn stars! I had nothing else going on in my life and you got to hear about them here in the "Diary" ad nauseum. I still have lots of porn star friends and write about them frequently -- on every page of JasonCurious.com! My life is just a little more well-rounded these days and I'm happier than I've ever been in my entire life because of it. If my life didn't have such variety, I've gotta tell you, the site wouldn't even still exist. I'd have chucked it last year. I can't be drowning in that scene or I don't appreciate it or enjoy it. So I hope you all who have been with me on this journey from the beginning can understand. I always want to make coming here an enjoyable experience for you.
Alright, I think I have managed to somehow let a mosquito in the apartment and it keeps flying in front of my face, so I am off to catch it.
Also, I wrote this over the weekend and I have found if I don't publish it here I end up losing it on my hard drive or on scrap pieces of paper lying around so here it is.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Had a dream about the most unlikely to succeed with me.
Didn't know what I was looking for until it came.
Had a dream about the boy I never thought I'd dream to be.
Showed me beauty in a breaking heart's sweet serenade.
Genuine and gentleman.
Thoughtful and true.
Selfless and talented.
Somehow still human too.
But I sometimes in secret remain selfish still.
Wishing that I could perhaps have you more.
Where the thoughts of a promise of a window steamed
Couldn't even make it to Fairfax door.
Sometimes I get selfish and still want you more.
It's not that I'm certain you're the one for me.
It's just you're the closest I've found, you see.
Someday I'll find true love, but know when I do
I'd never have recognized it if it were not for you.

What a week, huh? Glad to know it was a good week at TOS. Wish I'd been there. And, no, your diary posting was not boring. My weekend was boring ..... weeding out files on my hardrive. Had lots of duplicate videos taking up lots of room, finally got around to deleting. See ya soon.

If you think you're scared of making people bored because of your diary entries, I have more reason to do so.
It's Jason Sechrest's Diary. It's a collection of your life and surroundings. Just keep your own pace and don't pay too much attention on how many people actually reads, or how will people react. You're just one regular bloke at the end of the day after you walk out from the limelight and people need to acknowledge it.
(No wonder Erik Rhodes sometimes is fed up with the reader's first perception of a porn star diary)
cheers.

What makes your diary or any personal blog interesting is that very "well-rounded" life you think others will find boring.
Not so you are still the life of the party in WeHo, just not the CENTER of the party! Jason it looks like you might stay around with a reasonable number of brain cells intact by the time you are 40,, a year ago we were not too sure.
But you always struck me as TOO SMART and TOO TALENTED to let yourself become another célebutante Burnout!
Your writing is clearer and has a sharper focus this year...
Prom night
Jason its always fun to see a new retread of a fright nite movie of our youth through "new eyes"
I am sure it was cheesy, stupid so was the first one but hey I loved those movies they always had good boycandy!
Jason
You write the greatest blogs and merely because you write from your heart, which is open, breathing life and is so very full of love. No one will ever be bored by you. Keep up the notes as an expression of sharing who you are and give your mother a kiss and a hug from me to thank her for giving you birth.

Paul - Hope you're coming this Friday!! xo L, J.
Jimmy - Thanks. I know that you're one of those people who would support me and my decisions no matter what and that is really a comforting thing to have in life. Thank you. xo L, J.
DeWayne - There was NO boy eye candy in this one! How much does that suck?! I looove bad horror movies though, I agree. They're my fave. Love watching a really good one and a really bad one back to back like I'm at a drive-in. I do that at least once a month. ... I appreciate your thoughts on the reflections. I look back a year ago on some of those Diary entries and I see that I was really just working through everything out loud. They seem like rambling to me now, but I had to ramble to get to where I'm at. You have always been able to understand me very well and that means a lot to me. I appreciate it and you, always. xo L, J.
Aw Robert - Lol, thank you. I will pass the word onto my mother. I'm glad you're not bored and still getting something out of these stories. Means a lot to know. xo L, J.
hi,Jas, it's nice to get things together isn't it, you sound like you are enjoying life alot more, it's nice to have things in balance, it's probably more healthy than being overly energetically connected to just one facet of our lives., Isn't that waht kabbalah tells us,if you are happy that's great, if you ae not hurting anyone or yourself don't bother with what other people think, i remenber the gtret metaphysical saying " waht other peple think of me is none of my business;', or as a tibetan buddhist rinpoche once said if someone criticises us and there isin truth in it, take in on board , but if its;'s not , then its justy a value judgemnt aboutus, so we just let them have it,the opinion, peple are intitled to their op[inion, much easier way of dealing with things, you sound rellay happy , it's great.
hugs
