But I can’t say it hasn’t been worth the devotion. I started the day meeting up with Christian Owen. I was continually and consistently impressed with him throughout the shoot, as an actor, a performer and a professional. But nothing could prepare me for his scene with Bobby Williams today. Ever since Christian had fluffed Bobby the night before, there was an obvious spark between them. It was literally everything I could do to get them to keep their hands off of each other before the cameras started rolling. “PLEASE!” I implored. “Save it for the camera!” They did. Barely. The tension built. And by the time they were allowed to go at it, there was hardly any directing them. It was kind of sad saying goodbye to everyone. I have another shoot tomorrow morning for our second title, but that’s the reality-based porn so it’s virtually no crew. I learned so much from Bully. I learned that the key to directing, for me at least, is selflessness, and that very well may be the key to life. I learned that the more selfless you are, the more you create a family around you; a team of people who will not just work for you, but route for you. I learned that taking chances pays off. I learned that it’s better to forgive than hold a grudge and that people do grow into better versions of themselves. I learned that I need far less sleep than I’d ever imagined! I learned that I am capable of far more than I give myself credit for. It’s silly. Just a porno, isn’t it? It’s changed my life.
