"Bully" Behind the Scenes
So it has been exactly one year since I shot my first movie for DV8 Entertainment and least anyone think it’s never coming out, I am happy to say that the movie is finally completed. I’ve been making editing notes for our behind the scenes reel, going over nearly 15 hours of footage we shot during the making of Bully. It’s like a time capsule taking me back to where we all were one year ago. It’s been quite a journey since then.
For me, this whole project has been a labor of love thus far because, well, naturally, I won’t be making any money off of it until it comes out! So because of that, I’ve had to maintain work on my other projects in the meantime. It’s been like a hobby for the past year, a side project that I work on when I have time between jobs. Starting a company, it’s not like I’m some huge studio where I have a bunch of people working on turning the product out in a few months. The only person I had hired to work with me on post production was Drew Warner (God bless him, I don’t know what I’d have done without him!) so between the two of us and our insane schedules, we’ve done everything on our own and we’re both very proud of the work we’ve accomplished. It’s one hell of a movie. It’s sure light years beyond any debut title from a company we’ve ever seen in our years in the business. I’m glad we took the time to make it absolutely perfect and to make sure the vision I had in my head was truly brought to life. I think fans will agree it was worth the wait.
Ironically enough, while going through the “making of” footage, I also happened to run across a CD of behind the scenes photos. Our photographer, Purple, is so talented. She really captured all that was going on from behind the lens with these images. I feel like her photos here tell the real story of not only what shooting this movie was like, but where each of us were in our lives practically a year ago to the day.
So here’s to waxing sentimental and reminiscent… and here’s to everyone who has played a huge part in making Bully in the past year.
Look for Bully to finally hit store shelves in early 2007!
