10 QUESTIONS WITH ANDREW ROSEN ON "HOLLYWOOD SEX CLUB"


1. How did you come up with the concept for "Hollywood Sex Club"?

I wanted to weave together 2 stories about guys out on the town, one about two supposedly straight guys (Aaron James and Jason Reddick) who get drunk and wander into a gay sex club to see what it’s all about, and the other about a guy who recently broke up with his boyfriend (Jonathan Lowe) and hesitantly comes with his friend for a night out to get laid. While there he sees his crush from the gym (Tyler Saint) whom he follows around until he gets up his nerve to approach him. They end up having wild sex on the top floor of the club.

2. How did you know how to shoot it so well so that it feels like being at an actual sex club? Are you a frequenter of such spots? ;-)

We shot this at an actual sex club in Hollywood called The Zone, so it was easy to shoot. To answer your other question, though, I was one of the Zones first customers. I love sex clubs so I had no problem “mapping out” the movie in my head!

3. What is your personal favorite scene and why?

I would have to say the scene with the straight guys. I wanted to do something different and have the straight guy passed out so that he could remain straight throughout the movie. Only his friend knows that he had the gay experience. The friend will probably come back another day.

4. What was the best casting decision you made on the shoot?

There were several key casting decisions. Casting new Jet Set Exclusive Aaron James was a no brainer; he was perfect for the part! Putting Jonathan Lowe and Tyler Saint together also worked out quite well!

5. If there's one thing you could change about the movie, what would it be?

I would love to have had a group of guys having an orgy in the background all during the movie!

6. What's the hottest moment that happened OFF camera that we didn't get to see?

I was too busy directing the movie to know of any! Damn!

7. What's the funniest moment off camera that we didn't get to see?

We had a one-woman film crew there from MTV’s “True Life”, which was following Aaron James. All of us kept bumping into her, ruining her shots, because we weren’t used to having a camera behind us capturing everything that WE were doing! She took it well, though!

8. You have performed in movies too, so how has that affected your style of directing?

I know all the fears a performer has so I try to pay attention to keeping the performer relaxed. I try not to rush them and to be patient when things don’t go as fast as I need them to. I always hope the performers go home feeling good about what they have done.

9. Tell me something people probably DON'T know yet about Jet Set Men exclusive, Aaron James.

A.J. (as we all call him) is actually a pretty interesting and intelligent guy, not your stereotypical porn star. He’s going to surprise a lot of people with how well-rounded (and sexually versatile!) he is.

10. And Jet Set Men exclusive, Sebastian Young?

What can I say but: he’s hot, he’s a great actor, he definitely lives up to his reputation, and, for a straight boy, he sure loves sucking cock!
